The s elf-timer is suitable for t aking group p ictures and reducing the vibration when
the shutter-release button i spressed.
When using the seJf-timer_ use o fatripod isrecommended. Set
Vibration
reduction (_193) in the setup menu (_185) to Off when using a tripod to
stabilize the camera.
1 Press _) (self-timer) on the multi selector.
• The self-timer menu isdisplayed.

Press the multi selector A or V to choose 10s _1
or 2s and press the _) button. _j:L_,_ I
• lOs (ten seconds): suitable for group pictures I
• 2s (two seconds): suitable for preventing camera shake [
• The mode selected for the self-timer is displayed.
• Ifthe 00o_) button is not pressed within a few seconds, the
selection wiil be cancded.
3 Frame the picture and press the
shutter-release button halfway. I_
• The focus and exposure are set.

4 Press the shutter-release button the
rest of the way down.
• The self-timer starts, and the number of
seconds remaining before the shutter is
released is displayed. The sdf-timer lamp
blinks while the timer is counting down.
About one second before the shutter is
released, the lamp stops blinking and remains
lit.
• When the shutter is released, the self-timer
turns OFF.
• To stop the timer before a picture is taken,
press the shutter-release button again.
