NOTE:Reference to right, left,front and rearof the lawn
moweris in relationto the operatingposition.
Attaching the Chute Deflector
NOTE:Usea 7/16"wrenchand the hardwarein Group1
to completethe followingsteps.
1. Alignthe holeson the chutedeflectorwith the
corresponding holeson the deck surface.
2. insertcarriagebolts up throughthe undersideof the
deck and throughthe chutedeflector.See Figure3-1.
3. Secureeach boltwith a washerand locknut.
Attaching Handles
NOTE:Usean adjustablewrench,a 1/2" wrenchand the
hardwarein Group2 to completethe followingsteps.
Lower Handle
1. Lift the rearof the deck and placeit on a blockof
woodto secureit.
2. Placethe lowerhandleoverthe deck and align the
holeson the deck with the corresponding holeson
the handle.
3. Securethe lowerhandleto the deck usingthe hex
screws,shoulderscrews,and flangelocknuts.

Upper Handle
1. Placethe upperhandlein positionoverthe lower
handlekeepingthe bladecontrol handlefacingup.
2. Securethe upper handleto the lowerhandleusing
thecarriagebolts,lockwashers,and locknutsfrom
group4 of the hardwarepack.See Figure3-3.
