WATER FILTER
Removal and Installation
To avoid serious illness or death, do not use
refrigerator where water is unsafe or of unknown
quahty wtthout adequate dtsmfectton before or after
use of ftlter.
After installing a new water filter, always
dispense water for two minutes before
removing the filter for any reason. Air trapped in
system may cause water and cartridge to eject.
Use caution when removing.
• The bypass cap does not filter water. Be sure to
have replacement cartridge available when filter
change is required.
• If water filtration system has been allowed to
freeze, replace ftlter cartndge.
• If system has not been used for several months, or
water has an unpleasant taste or odor, flush
system by dtspenstng two to three glasses of
water. If unpleasant taste or odor perststs, change
filter cartndge. If system has not been use for
three months or more, replace water ftlter
cartndge.
Initial Installation
The water filter ts located tn the
upper right-hand corner of the fresh
food compartment.
1. Remove blue bypass cap and
retain for later use.
2. Remove sealing label from end
of filter and insert into filter head.

Rotate gently clockwise until
filter stops. Snap filter cover
closed.

Replacing Water Filter
Important: Air trapped m system may cause water
and cartridge to eject. Always dispense water for two

1. Turn filter counterclockwise [inttl tt releases from
filter head.
2. Dram water from filter into sink, and dtspose tn
normal household trash.
3. Wtpe Lip excess water m ftlter cover and contmLie
with Imtlal Installation, steps 2 throLigh 4.
The filter shoLild be changed at least every 12 months.
Important: Condition of water and an]oLil]t used
determines life span of water filter cartridge. If water
use is high, or if water is of poor quahty, replacement
may need to take place more often.

The dispenser featLire may be used without a water
filter cartridge. If you choose this option, replace filter
with blue bypass cap.
