Thedetergent dispenseris on the upper left hand side of

the dishwasherdoor. It ha two compartments. Usethe
main wash compartment for all loads. Usethe pre-wash
compartment only when your water is extremely hard or
when you have a heavy soiledload.

Youmay usetablet,powder,liquidor gelautomatic
dishwasher d etergent.Makesureyou useonlydetergents
specifically labeledfor usein automaticdishwashers. Never
useliquidhand disdetergentin an automaticdishwasher.
Sudsing and poorwash performancewill resultwith the useof
improperdetergents.
Detergents shouldbe storedin a dry locationand in their
originalcontainerto preventlossof effectiveness. Place
detergentin thecupjust priorto startingthe dishwasherand
thencloseand latch the cover.Thecoverwill openduringthe
wash cycle.
Filling the Detergent Dispenser
GErecommends usingdetergentin tablet or packetform.
Independent t estinghasshownthis form of detergentisvery
effectivein the dishwasher. C ascade®Complete 2 in 1
Action Packsare an exampleof this type of detergent.Simply
put a tabletor packetintothe mainwash compartmentand
thencloseand latch the detergentcupcover.Pleasenotice
that the tablet or packetmust be placedin the mainwash
compartmentof the detergentcup.if the tablet or packetis
tossedin the bottomof the dishwasher, t he detergentwill be
flusheddownthe drain in a very shortperiodof time and will
thus be wasted.Washperformancewillbe very poor asa
result.
tfyou chooseto usedetergentin powder,liquidor gelform,
the amountof detergent y ou usewill bedeterminedby the
hardness of yourwater,the temperatureof yourwater,
and the foodsoilload insidethe dishwasher. C ontactyour
water companyto get informationaboutthe hardness of
thewater in yourarea.Youmay purchase a hard water test
stripfrom GE. C all1-800-626-2002 and askfor part number
WD01×10295.

hot water may causea conditioncalledetchingon your
glassware. E tching is a permanentcloudiness inyour

of detergentyou use.Usejust enoughto getgood wash
