BAG HANDLE
Usedto grasp bagin orderto assistin attaching,removing,and
emptyingbag.See Figure10.
BLOWER
CHUTE
Whenattachedto unit, the blowerchute isusedto dischargeyard
wastesuchas leaves,pineneedle,or small twigsacrossyard.
THROTTLE
CONTROL
Thethrottlecontrolsthe engine speedand stop function.Through
threeseparatepositionson the leverfrom left to right,the operationis
as follows:
Fast
Slow
Engine Off
CHOKE
CONTROL
Thechokecontrol is usedto chokethe carburetorand assist in starting
the engine.
GAS AND OiL FILL-UP
Oil (one bottle shipped with unit)
First Time Use
1.
Removeoil fill dipstick.
2.
With theYardVacuumon levelground,usea funnelto empty
entirecontentsof oil bottle providedintothe engine.
3.
Replaceoil fill dipstickand tighten.
* Below40°F(4°C) the useof SAE 30 will resultin hardstarting.
** Above80°F (27°C)the useof 10%30 may causeincreasedoil
consumption.Checkoil levelmorefrequently.
1.
Checkthe oil with the engine stoppedand level.
2.
Removethe oil fill dipstick and wipeitclean.
3.
Insertand tighten theoil fill dipstick.Removeitto checktheoil
level.
4.
If the oil levelisnearor belowthe lowerlimit markon the dipstick,
removethe oil fill dipstick,and fill with the recommended oil to the
upperlimit mark.Do notoverfill.
5.
Reinstall t he oil fill dipstick.
Gasoline
Do not useunapprovedgasolines,such as E85.Donot mix oil in
I gasolineor modifyengineto run on alternatefuels.This willdamage
[the enginecomponents and void the engine warranty.
Fuel must meet these requirements:
Clean,fresh, unleadedgasoline.
A minimumof 87 octane/87AKI (91 RON).
Gasolinewith up to 10%ethanol(gasohol)is acceptable.
Refuelin a well-ventilated area with the enginestopped.If theengine
hasbeen running,allowitto cool first. Neverrefueltheengine inside a
buildingwheregasolinefumesmay reachflamesor sparks.
Gasolineis highlyflammableand explosive, a nd you can be
burnedor seriouslyinjuredwhen rdueling. Stopengineand keep
heat, sparks,and flame away.Refuelonlyoutdoors.Wipeup spills
immediately.
Subsequent Uses
Use 4-strokemotoroil that meetsor exceedsthe requirements for
APIservicecategorySF,SG, SH, SJor higher.Alwayscheckthe API
servicelabelon the oil containerto be sureit includesthe lettersSF,
SG,SH, SJor higher.
Outdoortemperatures determinethe properoil viscosityfor the engine.
Use thechart to selectthe bestviscosityfor the outdoortemperature

If yourequipmentwill be usedon an infrequent o r intermittentbasis,
pleasereferto the Off SeasonStoragesectionfor additionalinforma-
tion regardingfuel deterioration.
NOTE:Fuelcan damagepaintand some typesof plastic. Becareful
notto spill fuelwhenfillingyourfuel tank.
Neverusestale or contaminated gasolineor an oil/gasolinemixture.
Avoidgettingdirt or waterin thefuel tank.
1.
Removethe fueltank cap.
2.
Fillthe fueltank with fuel. Toallowfor expansionof the fuel, do
notfill abovethe bottomof the fueltank neck.Do notoverfill.
Wipe up spilledfuelbeforestartingthe engine.
3.
Installthe fuel tankcap and tightenit untilit clicks.
4.
Moveyard vacuumat least 10 feet awayfromthe fuel container/
sourceand site beforestartingthe engine.
NOTE:Checkthe fuellevel periodically to avoidrunningout of
gasolinewhile operatingthe yardvacuum.If the unit runsout of gas as
it is chipping,it may be necessaryto unclogthe dischargearea before
it can be restarted.Referto SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE section.
