The automatic timer will turn the oven on and off at the times you select in advance. Before setting the oven for the Timed Bake operation, be sure that the clock shows the correct time of day.

    ROASTING Roasting is a dry heat method for cooking tender cuts of meat and poultry. Place roasts fat side up on a rack in a shallow, uncovered pan. Use the bottom or next-to-bottom rack posi- tion. Set the oven temperature for 300 °F-325 °F.

    BRAISING Braising is a moist heat method for cooking less tender cuts of meat. First brown meat in an uncovered pan on the top of the range. Use only enough fat to prevent sticking. Then place browned meat in a pan with a tight-fitting cover.
