TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEM
Compressor is not supplying
enough air to operate accesso-
ries.
CAUSE
Prolongedexcessiveuse of air.
Compressor isnotlargeenoughfor air
requirement.
Excessive belt wear.
Squealing sound.
Pressure reading on the regu-
latedpressuregauge dropswhen
an accessoryis used.
Regulator knob - continuous air
leak. Regulator will not shut off
at air outlet.
Restricted air intake filter
Loose belt.
Hole in hose.
Check valve restricted.
Airleaks.
Loose belt.
Tight belt.
Loose pulley.
Pulleymisalignment.
Loosebelt.
There is no oil in the compressor.
Itisnormalfor"some"pressure dropto
OCCUr.
Dirty or damaged regulator intemal
parts.
CORRECTION
Decrease amountof air usage.
Check the accessoryair requirement.If it is higher
thanthe CFM, SCFM or pressuresuppliedby your
air compressor,you need a larger compressor.
Clean or replaceair intakefilter. Do notoperatethe
compressorin the paint spray area.
Adjustbelt tension.
Check and replaceif required.
Remove and clean or replace.
Tightenfittings. (See "Air Leaks" sectionof "Trou-
bleshooting Guide".)
Adjusttension per instructions.(See "Belt Adjust-
ment or Replacement"section in this manual.)
Adjust tension.(See "Belt Adjustment"sectioninthis
manual.)
Checkforwornkeywayorpulleybore.Alsocheckfor
bent motor shaft. Replace parts if necessary.
Motor pulley and flywheel must be in line within 1/32".
(See "Pulley and Flywheel- Alignment" section inthis
manual.)
Adjust belttension. (See "Belt Replacement" section
in this manual.)
Add oil to top of fill hole in base.
If there is an excessive amount of pressure drop
when the accessory is used, adjust the regulator.
NOTE
Adjust the regulated pressure under flow
conditions (while the accessory is being
used).
Clean or replace regulator or intemal parts.
