OWNER'S INSTRUCTIONS
EDGER KIT

ATTACHING THE EDGER WHEEL AND BLADE
To convert the mini tiller to an edger proceed as follows:
1. Push the On/Oft switch to Off (O) position to stop engine and
tines and disconnect spark plug to avoid accidental starting.
See Stopping Instructions in the Mini Tiller Operator's Manual.
NOTE: It may be necessary to lay the mini tiller / edger back in a
horizontal position on a flat level surface with the upper
handle touching the ground. Refer to the Mini Tiller
Operator's Manual.

To prevent serious personal injury, always
wear heavy gloves when handling the tines.
2. Remove the click
pin from each end
of the tine shaft
and slide the tines
off the shaft (Fig. 1).
3. Slide the edger
wheel, with the
hub facing inward,
onto the tine shaft
as shown in figure
2 and secure with
the click pin in the
inside hole (Fig. 2).
4. Slide the edger
blade with the hub
facing out onto the
tine shaft as shown
in figure 2 and
secure with the click
pin in the inside hole
(Fig. 2).

flower bed, sidewalk, or driveway with the edger wheel along
the outside edge. Use the edger guide line to line up edger
blade.
AFFIXING THE EDGER GUIDE LINE DECAL
To affix the Edger Guide Line decal, proceed as follows:
1. After attaching the
edger wheel and
blade, clean the
shield area with a
soft damp cloth
and towel dry.
2. Remove the label
backing from the
Edger Guide Line
decal.
3. Place the decal
as Fig.
3
shown in figure 3
with the Edger Cutting Line directly in line with the edger blade.
This should be about 1-1/2 inches from the edge of the shield.
4. Rub the decal firmly in place to ensure that the decal will
properly affix to the shield.

Position the edger
so that both rear
wheels are firmly
and fully
supporting the
unit.
Start the unit by
following the
Starting
Instructions in the
Operator's
Manual.

While holding the upper handle with both hands, slowly lower
the edger blade into the ground (Fig. 4).
Once the blade enters the ground, continue lowering the blade
until the edger wheel is firmly supported.
Allow the unit to pull you forward in a controlled and steady
manner. Continue at a moderate pace until you are familiar
with the controls and the handling of the edger.
