ALL ABOUT THE SELF CLEAN MODE
Thisovenfeaturesa pyrolyticSetfCteancyclethat takescareof the messandgrimethat is traditionallyassociated with ovencleaning.
DuringSerfC/ean the ovenreaches highertemperaturesthanit doesfor cookingand this burnsoff and breaksdownsoiland grease
deposits. A smokeeliminatorandactiveventingsystemeradicates odor. Theashresiduethat remainscansimplybe removed from the
coolovenwith a dampcloth or sponge.A Self Clean cycle normallytakes about 3 hours. Onlyone caviltyin a doubleovencan
SeffC/eanat a time. When onecavity is in SeffC/eanmodethe othercavitycannot be usedfor cooking.
Note : Duringinitialoperation,includingthe SeffC/eancycle,it is normal t o experience unpleasant o dors. Thiswill diminishwith use.
Heat,odorsand smallflame-upsare normalduringthe cleaningcycle. Theextentof thesewill dependon the amountof soil buildup in
the oven. If youexperience a persistent f lare-ups,turnthe ovenoff and allow it to cool, removethe food soiland then restartthe Serf
C/eancycle.
Important Safety Instructions
Wipe up anylargefood spills or greasedepositswith papertowels in order to decreasesmokeand odors.
Smallamountsof harmfulchemicals are givenoff in the SeffC/ean cyclefrom insulation andfood decomposition.Significant
exposure to these substances cancausecanceror reproductive harm. Ventingwith an extractorhood or openwindow and wiping
outexcessfood spillspriorto a SeffC/ean can minimizeexposure.
De not useovencleaners.No commercial o vencleaner, o venliner or protectivecoatingof anykindshouldbe usedin or aroundany
partof the oven.
Beforestartinga SeffC/eancycle, removethe three-piecebroilingsystem,anycookwareand the ovenshelves. Donot useyouroven
to cleanmiscellaneous p arts.
De notcleanthe door or cavity seal,or useanyovencleaningproductson the doorseal. It is essential t o the efficientoperationof the
ovenandcare shouldbe taken notto rub,damageor movethe seal.
Cleanonlyparts recommended in this User Guide.
Using the Self Clean Mode
Selectthe SetfCteanmodebyturningthe ovenmodedial. 'Self Clean' w ill appearin the display.
Selectthe maximum temperatureusingthe temperaturedial, 'go0' will appearin the displayand this will changeto i
whenthe
cycle begins.
In the clockdisplay'DoorLock'and 'Clean' w ill show and the time remaining will count down.
Foryour safetythe door lockwill automatically activate oncethe cleanmodeandtemperaturehasbeenselected.
At the end of the SeffC/eancycle,the doorwill unlockandthe 'DoorLock'displaywill disappear.'Clean' a nd the '0.00' will flash in the
clockdisplayand 'CleanEnd'in the modedisplayuntilthe ovenis returnedto manual o peration- Todo this turnthe ovenmodeand
temperaturedialsto the OFF position.
To cancelthe Se/fC/eanmodebeforeit hasfinished,turnthe ovenmodeand temperaturedialsto the OFF position. 'CleanCool'will
appearin the ovenmodedisplayand the doorwill remainlockeduntilthe ovenhascooledto a safetemperature. Do not turn the
power to the applianceoff as the fans are necessaryto coolthe oven. If the ovenis coolor belowthe safetemperature
it will returnto normaloperationandthe clockdisplaywill show the time of day.
At the completionof the self-cleancycle,youwill notice greyash depositedinsidethe oven. Theamountof ash in the ovenis
dependenton the amountof soilpresentin the ovenbeforeit was cleaned. Whenthe ovenis completelycooled,the bulkof
the ash is easilyremoved with a smallbrushor drycloth, thenwipe out the ovenwith a cleandampcloth and drywith a clean
lint-freecloth.
Note : Pleasecheckthe ovendoorand doorglassare completelycold beforewipingup anyash.
