Using Tape Backup

The Tape Backup screens control local tape backup, restore, scheduling, and status options. From the main
menu, press Y. Tape Backup to display the following:
Select the number corresponding to the task you are performing:

6. Tape Cleaning

Specify the data to backup and how backups are to be performed by creating and editing
backup jobs.
Determine which day of the week backup jobs will be executed.
Start a backup job immediately (without scheduling) or monitor the status of previous and
current backups.
Begin restoring data from a backup tape or monitor the status of previous and current
restores.
Examine and access general information from tapes currently in the tape magazine.
Reserve slots in the magazine for cleaning tapes and track time from last cleaning.
View the log of recent tape related events.
Alter serial numbers used on tapes and how long tapes are protected from overwrite.
