To Release the FE Lock
Press the m button.
The FE lock may be released by pressing the zoom lever, MENU
button or _ button, or by changing the white balance, ISO speed,
photo effect or the shooting mode, or by turning the LCD monitor off.
You can switch between metering modes to shoot.
Evaluative
Appropriate for standard shooting conditions,
including backlit scenes. The camera divides images
into several zones for light metering. It evaluates
complex lighting conditions, such as the position of
the subject, the brightness, the direct light, and the
backiighting, and adjusts the settings to the correct
exposure for the main subject.
Center Averagesthe light meteredfrom the entire frame, but
Weighted
Average gives greater weight to the subject matter at the center.
Metersthe area within the spot AEpoint at the center
of the LCD monitor. Use this setting when you want
Spot to set the exposure on the subject in the center of
the monitor.
Press the [_ button to switch
betweenmeteringmodes.
The selected metering mode appears on the
LCD monitor.
