SD Card Handling Precautions
eSD cards are high-precisionelectronicdevices.Do not bendthem, apply
force to them, or subject themto shocksor vibration.
• Do not attemptto disassembleor alterthe SDcard.
• Do not allow dirt, water or foreign objects to contactthe terminals on the
backof the card. Do not touch the terminals with your handsor metal
objects.
• Do not peel awaythe original label on the SD cardor cover it with another
labelor sticker.
eWhen writing on the SD card, usea soft point pen (e.g.felt-tip pen). Using
a sharp point pen(e.g. ball-pointpen) or pencil may damagethe SDcard or
corrupt the recordeddata.
oSince some or all of the datarecordedon the SDcard may be corrupted or
erasedby electricalnoise, staticelectricity or cardmalfunction, makinga
backupcopy of important data is recommended.
• Movingan SDcard rapidly betweentemperatureextremeswill cause
condensationto form in the card and leadto a malfunction. To avoid
condensation,placethe SD card in a sealedplastic bag beforemoving it
into a different temperaturezoneand allow it to adjustslowly to the new
temperature.
• If condensationforms on the SDcard, store it at room temperatureuntilthe
water droplets haveevaporatednaturally.
• Do not use or store SD cards in the following locations.
- Locations subjectto dustor sand
- Locations subjectto highhumidityandhigh temperatures
Precaution for Multi Media Cards
This camera is designed to perform optimally when used with genuine
Canon-brand SD cards. You may use multi media cards with this
camera. However,Canon makes no warranties concerning the use of
multi media cards.
