Use the self-timer
when
you want
to be in the picture.
The
<_®>
(10
sec. timer)
can
be used in all shooting
modes.

Press the <DRIVE> button. ((_6)
Select the self-timer.

While
looking
at the LCD panel,
turn
the <_>
dial to select
the self-timer.

Take the picture.
_ Look through the viewfinder, focus
the subject, then press the shutter
button completely.
_y,, Y ou can check the self-timer
operation with the self-timer lamp,
beeper, and countdown display (in
seconds) on the LCD panel.
#,,_ Two seconds before the picture is
taken, the self-timer lamp will stay on
and the beeper will sound faster.
The <]®2 > 2-sec. self-timer enables you to shoot while not touching
the
camera mounted on a tripod. This prevents camera shake while you
shoot still lifes or bulb exposures.
_ After taking self-timer sho[s, you should checkthe
image for proper focus
and exposure
(p.190).
If you will not look through the viewfinder when you press the shutter
button, attach the eyepiece cover _p. 124). if stray light enters tile
viewfinder when the picture is taken, it may throw off the exposure.
When using the self-timer to shoot only yourself,
use focus lock (p.56) on
an object at about the same distance
as where you will stand.
To cancel the self-timer after it starts, press the < DRtVF> button
