Selecting
the AF Mode _
You can select the AF mode suiting the shooting conditions or subject.
In Basic Zone modes, the most suitable AF mode is set automatically.

On the lens, set the focus
mode
r_ switch
to <AF>.
_Set
the Mode Dial to a Creative
Zone mode.

Press the
<AF> button. (_6)

Select
the AF mode.
_ While looking at the LCD panel, turn
the <_>
or <O>
dial.
ONE SHOT: One-Shot AF
A_ FOCUS: AI Focus AF
AI SERV0: AI Servo AF
One-Shot
AF for Still
Subjects
Suited for still subjects.
When you press the shutter
button
halfway, the camera will focus only once.
_ When focus is achieved, the AF point which achieved focus will flash
briefly in red, and the focus confirmation
light <Q>
in the viewfinder
will also light.
_ With evaluative
metering, the exposure setting will be set at the
same time focus is achieved.
_ While you hold down the shutter button halfway, the focus will be
locked. You can then recompose
the shot if desired.
