Selecting the AF Mode _
You can select the AF mode suiting the shooting conditions or subject.
In Basic Zone modes, the most suitable AF mode is set automatically.
_ On the lens, set the focus mode
r_ switch to <AF>.
_Set the Mode Dial to a Creative
Zone mode.
_ Press the
<AF> button. (_6)
_:, Select the AF mode.
_ While looking at the LCD panel, turn
the <_> or <O> dial.
ONE SHOT: One-Shot AF
A_ FOCUS: AI Focus AF
AI SERV0: AI Servo AF
One-Shot AF for Still Subjects
Suited for still subjects. When you press the shutter button
halfway, the camera will focus only once.
_ When focus is achieved, the AF point which achieved focus will flash
briefly in red, and the focus confirmation light <Q> in the viewfinder
will also light.
_ With evaluative metering, the exposure setting will be set at the
same time focus is achieved.
_ While you hold down the shutter button halfway, the focus will be
locked. You can then recompose the shot if desired.
