CHUTE
ASSEMBLY
Rotatethe dischargechute to the left or rightusingthe controlhandle.
Thepitch of the dischargechute controlsthe angleat which the snow
is thrown.Loosenthewing knobon the side of the dischargechute
beforepivotingthe dischargechute upwardor downward.Retighten
the knoboncethe desiredpositionhasbeen achieved.
SHAVE PLATE
Theshaveplate maintainscontactwith the pavementas the snow
throweris propelled,allowingsnowclose tothe pavement'ssurfaceto
be discharged.
OIL FILL/DIPSTICK
Engineoil levelcan be checkedand oil addedthroughtheoil fill.
OIL DRAIN
Engineoil can be drainedthroughthe oil drain.

Makecertain theauger controlis in thedisengaged(released)
position.
2.
Insertignitionkey intoslot. Makesureit snapsintoplace. Donot
attemptto turnthe key.See Figure9.

Pushthe choke leverto the CHOKEi_1 position.

If the engineis warm,placethe chokein the RUNI

insteadof CHOKEI_1.

Pushthe primerfive to seven(5-7)times, makingsureto cover
the vent hole whenpushing.

If the engineis warm,pushthe primeronly once.

Graspthe recoilstarterhandleand slowlypull the ropeout. At
the pointwhereit becomesslightlyharderto pull the rope,slowly
allowthe ropeto recoil.
8.
Pullthe starterhandlewith a firm, rapidstroke.Do not release
the handleand allow it to snapback. Keepa firm holdon the
starterhandleand allow it to slowlyrecoil.

Allowthe engineto warm up severalminutes,adjustingchoke

eachchoke adjustment.
STOPPING
THE ENGINE
1.
Runthe enginefor a few minuteswithoutengagingthe auger
beforestoppingto helpdry off any moistureon the engine.
2.
To stopthe engine removethe keyand storeit in a safe place.
3.
Wipeall the snowand moistureawayfrom the enginecontrols
area.
Muffler,engineand surroundingareasbecomehotand can causea
burn. Be carefuland do not touchwhenthey are hot.
ENGAGING
THE AUGER
Engagethe augerby squeezingtheauger controlagainstthe upper
handle.Releasethe controlto stop the auger.
ENGAGING
THE DRIVE
Lift up slightlyon the upper handleto allowthe rubberpaddleson the
auger to contactthe pavementand propelthe snowthrowerforward.
Pushingdownwardon the handlewill raisethe augeroff the ground
and stopthe forwardmotion.
NOTE:Excessiveupwardpressureon the handlewill resultin
premature wearto the rubberauger paddles,whichwill notbe covered
bythe warranty.
CLEARING
A CLOGGED
DISCHARGE
CHUTE
Handcontactwith the rotatingimpellerinsidethe dischargechute
isthe mostcommoncause of injuryassociatedwith snowthrowers.
Neveruseyourhand to cleanoutthe dischargechute.
Toclear thechute:
1.
SHUTTHE ENGINEOFF!
2.
Wait 10secondsto be surethe impellerbladeshavestopped
rotating.
3.
Alwaysusea clean-outtool or stick,notyour hands.
