CHUTE ASSEMBLY
Rotatethe dischargechute to the left or rightusingthe chutehandb.
The pitchof the dischargechute controlsthe angleat which the snow
is thrown.Loosenthe wing knobon the side of the dischargechute
beforepivotingthe dischargechute upwardor downwar& Retighten
the knoboncethe desiredpositionhas beenachbve&

The shaveplatemaintainscontactwith the pavementas the snow
throweris propelled,allowingsnow closeto thepavement'ssurfaceto

BEFORE
STARTING
THE ENGUNE

The sparkplug wirewas disconnected for safety.Attachthe spark
plug wireto the spark plugbeforestarting.
STARTUNG THE ENGUNE

If the engineis warm,pushthe primerbuttononlyonce.
NOTE:Alwayscoverthe vent hole in the primerbuttonwhenpushing.
Additionalprimingmaybe necessaryfor thefirst start if the tempera-
ture is below15 ° R

Graspthe starterhandleand pull the rope out slowly,until it pulls
slightlyharder.Let the rope rewindslowly.
7.
Pullthe starterhandlerapidly.Do notallowthe handleto snap
back.Allow it to rewindslowlywhilekeepinga firm hold on the
handle.
8.
As the enginewarmsup and beginsto operateevenly,slidethe
choke leverslowlyto the 1/2chokeposition.Whenthe engine

beginsto run smoothly,movethechoke to the OFF_ _position.
If the enginefails, returnto FULL1"_1choke,thenslowlymoveto

1/2chokethenthe OFF_ _position.
STOPPING
THE ENGINE
1.
Runtheenginefora fewminutesbeforestoppingto helpdryoff any
moistureon theengine.
2.
To stopthe engine removethe ignitionkey and store it in a safe
place.
3.
Wipeall the snowand moistureawayfrom the enginecontrols
area.
Toavoidcarbonmonoxidepoisoning,makesure theengine is
outdoorsin a welPventilated area.

insert the ignitionkeyinto the slot.See Figure11.Do notattempt
to turnthe key.Doingso maycause it to break.

ENGAGUNG THE AUGERS
Engagethe augerby squeezingtheauger controlagainstthe upper
handle.Releasethe controlto stop the augers.
ENGAGUNG THE DRUVE
Lift up slightlyon the handleto allowthe rubber paddleson the auger
to contactthe pavement a nd propelthe snowthrowerforwar& Pushing
downwardon the handlewill raisethe augersoff the groundand stop
the forwardmotion.
NOTE:Excessiveupwardpressureon the handlewill result in
prematurewearto the rubberauger paddies,which is notcoveredby
the warranty.
