Checking the Battery Level

NOTE:
The battery level indication is an estimation of remaining run time. The actual operating time
can be different from the estimated time, depending on how you are using the com puter.
You can check the approximate battery level using the battery meter function of the
operating system. To read the battery level in Windows, click the
(Click the
icon if the computer is using AC power.)

Replacing the Battery Pack

CAUTION:
1. There is danger of damage if the battery is incorrectly replaced.
2. Replace the battery only with the computer manufacturer's optional battery packs.
3. Discard used batteries according to the dealer's instructions.
4. Do not attempt to disassemble the battery pack.
If you often rely on battery power for long periods of time while traveling, you may
consider the purchase of an additional battery pack from your dealer and keep it with
you in a fully charged state as a backup.
To replace the battery pack, follow these steps:
1. Make sure the computer is not on or connected to the AC power.
2. Loosen the four screws and lift the battery pack compartment cover to take it off the
computer.
3. Pull on the ribbon and remove the battery pack from the computer.
4. Insert the new battery pack into the compartment. Make sure the ribbon is
underneath the battery pack.
5. Replace the compartment cover and secure the four screws.
