    1. Film Adapter Unit (FAU) is bult in the scanner for scanning negative and positive films. 2. Canon's proprietary VAROS (Variable Refraction Optical System) technology allows 1200 dpi resolution in the horizontal scanning direction when using FAU to scan films.

    Causes and corrective actions for error messages which may occur during Canon Scanner Test are described below. 1. When Canon scanner test is started, "Unable to find USB scanner" is displayed. Cause 1 : Device driver for the scanner is not installed in the host computer.
