Making connections

Connecting a basic home theater system

To connect a basic home theater system using analog
audio:
1
Make sure that your TV's power cord is unplugged
and the home system is turned off.

Connect an audio cable (not provided) to the AUDIO
OUT jacks on the side of your TV and to the AUDIO
IN jacks (L/R) on the home theater system.

Connecting a home theater system with
multiple devices
When connecting an AV receiver with the ARC
function, we recommend that you connect the AV
receiver's HDMI OUT jack to your TV's HDMI (ARC)
jack by using an HDMI-ARC compliant cable.
In the following situations, the HDMI cable will route
Dolby Digital audio to the AV receiver, so you do not
need to connect a separate digital audio cable:
• When you have a game console connected to your
TV's HDMI jack.
• When you watch a program through an antenna or
cable TV connected to the ANT/CABLE IN jack.

Computer
The connections you make depend on the video and
audio jacks available on your devices. Refer to the
documentation that came with your devices for
connection information.
Remember to use the best connection types available for
the best picture and sound. For information about
connection types, see "see "What connection should I
use?" on page 8.
