Install the Router.

There are four steps to installing your router:
Warning
Hazardous network voltages are present in WAN interface card ports regardless of whether
power to the router is OFF or ON. To avoid electric shock, use caution when working near WAN ports.
When detaching cables, detach the end away from the router first.
A. Connect the router to your Ethernet network.
B. Install a WAN interface card in the router (optional). If the card is not already installed, and you want to
use a card with the router, you must install it.
C. Connect the router to the WAN line. This is the telephone line (Frame Relay, serial, 56-kbps, or ISDN) that
is supplied by the telephone company.
D. Connect the router to the power supply. After you connect the power, you can confirm proper installation
by checking that certain LEDs are on.
Note: If you're not sure what Cisco 1600 router model you are using, look on the rear panel.
