Using the Administrative Console

The Security Manager Administrative Console is the central location for administering HP ProtectTools
Security Manager.
The console is composed of the following components:
Tools—Displays the following categories for configuring security on your computer:
Home—Allows you to select the security tasks to perform.
System—Allows you to configure security features and authentication for users and devices.
Applications—Displays general settings for HP ProtectTools Security Manager and for
Security Manager applications.
Data—Provides an expanding menu of links to Security Manager applications that protect
your data.
Management Tools—Provides information on additional tools. The panel displays the following
choices:
HP ProtectTools Security Manager Setup Wizard—Guides you through setting up HP
ProtectTools Security Manager.
Help—Displays this Help file, which provides information about Security Manager and its
preinstalled applications. Help for applications that you may add is provided within those
applications.
About—Displays information about HP ProtectTools Security Manager, such as the version
number and copyright notice.
Main area—Displays application-specific screens.
