12 LoJack Pro for HP ProtectTools

Absolute Software's line of Computrace products lets users track their HP computers and enhance data
protection. The Computrace LoJack products also reduce machine loss and aid in recovery of stolen
machines.
To activate the Computrace product, follow these instructions:
1. Click Start, click All Programs, and then click HP ProtectTools Security Manager.
2. Click Theft Recovery, and then click Activate Now.
Your default Web browser opens a subscription Web site where you can select and purchase one
of the three Computrace products available with HP ProtectTools:

Computrace Data Delete—Includes remote data delete, device freeze, and basic asset
tracking and reporting.
●
Computrace LoJack Pro—Includes remote data delete, device freeze, basic asset tracking
and reporting, and managed theft recovery.
●
Computrace LoJack Pro Premium—Includes remote data delete, device freeze, advanced
asset tracking and reports, geolocation and geofencing, and managed theft recovery.
The Computrace Agent is embedded in the BIOS of HP business notebooks, though the Agent is turned
off when the computer is shipped. After you purchase your subscription, the Agent can be activated.
The embedded Agent is able to reinstall the operating system and reformat hard drives.
NOTE: Subscription periods from 1 to 5 years are available. Please refer to the Absolute Software
subscription agreement for additional details. The recovery feature is dependent upon your geographic
location. GPS tracking is supported on select models with the WWAN option.
