7. Remove the hard disk drive from its protective bag and check, or set the
following items:
a. Check for bent pins on any of the connectors and carefully straighten any
bent pins.
b. If mounting a second IDE hard drive, set the second drive for slave.
The second IDE drive will share the same IDE cable (IDE-1) with the first
hard disk drive, which is set for master. Refer to the documentation
provided with the hard drive.
c. If mounting a SCSI hard drive, ensure it is not terminated and set the SCSI
ID jumper for address = ID 1.
Refer to the documentation provided with the hard drive.
8. Slide the drive into the upper cage opening with the data and power
connectors facing out of the drive cage. See Figures 4-2 and 4-3.
