On some models, you may first need to
remove the heat sink fan.

Replacing the heat sink

Tips & Tricks
You need a Phillips screwdriver to add or
replace the heat sink.
Pull down on the side of the power supply nearest you, then remove the

power supply from the bay.
Slide the new power supply into the power supply bay until its back is flush

with the back of the case.
Use the four screws you removed previously to secure the new power

supply to the case.
Reconnect the power supply cables to the system board and to the drives.

Replace the side panel by following the instructions in

To replace the heat sink:
Remove the side panel by following the instructions in

154.
Place the computer case on its side.

Disconnect the heat sink fan's power connector from the system board.
