5.1.9 Initial Ink Charge Operation

After you replaced any of the following units, perform initial ink charge and return the
printer after making sure that ink is ejected correctly from the printhead.
n After replacing the printer mechanism
n After replacing or removing the printhead
Before you perform the initial ink charge operation, replace the
installed cartridges with new ones, because the ink amount used for
the initial ink charge operation is so large.
1. Choose the "Maintenance menu". The following menu is displayed.

2. Choose the "Initial Ink charge" item in the "Maintenance Menu" and click the
"OK" button.
Adjustment
NOTE: As described in the menu message, about 1/9 amount of the Black ink
cartridge and 1/6 amount of the Color ink cartridge are consumed in the
initial ink charge operation.

NOTE: The initial ink charge is carried out without turning off/on the printer. It
takes about 1 minutes & 45seconds for this operation to complete the
whole sequence.)
