 You cannot record on a ROM type or write-
protected SD card.
To remove write-protection from an SD card,
slide the switch of the SD card in the direction of
the arrow.
Write-protect switch
 Damaged data may occur in the following cases:
 I f you eject an SD card/USB device, or turn off
your unit while your unit is reading or writing
files on an SD card/USB device.
 I f you use an SD card/USB device near a place
influenced by static electricity or electrical
noise.
 Sony is not liable for recorded data modification/
erasure caused during use.
 Sony does not guarantee the encoded software
and software used for writing. If a prerecorded
file is unsuitable for playing with this unit, noise
may be heard, playback may be interrupted or
there may be no playback at all.
 When formatting the models, be sure to format
using the model itself, or the dedicated
formatting software for that model.
 Operation may not always be ensured, even
when using USB devices.
 Playback of WMA/AAC files with copyright
protection is not supported.
 Files downloaded from a music download
website may not be playable.
 Connection through a hub is not supported.
 When the number of tracks, folders or files in
this unit or computer reach the following limits,
play is not possible.
 W hen the number of folders exceeds 255.
 W hen the number of files in any folder exceeds
999.
 W hen the number of all files exceeds 5,000.
The maximum numbers above may differ from
the file structure of an SD card or USB device.
 You can check the number of folders/files in an
SD card/USB device with the following
procedure.
1 Press MENU.
2 Press  until "SD" or "USB" appears, then
press ENTER.
3 When using an SD card, press  until "SD
Information" appears.
When using a USB, press  until "USB
Information" appears, then press ENTER.
