Desired station cannot be
received although a preset
number is selected.
The recorded file has noise.

Timer

Symptom
The alarm does not sound
at the preset alarm time.
A scheduled recording was
not made.
After trying the suggested remedies, if a problem persists, unplug the AC power cord and
remove all the batteries. After all the indications in the display disappear, plug in the AC power
cord again, or re-insert the batteries. (page 11) If the problem persists, consult your nearest
Sony dealer.
 The correct preset number was not selected.
 Select the correct preset number for your desired station.
 Set the radio for the current area.
 When recording, the unit was knocked or disturbed and noise was recorded.
 While recording or playing, if the unit is placed too close to an electrical cable,
fluorescent light or cellular phone, etc., noise may be heard.
 When you record FM radio, noise may be heard, depending on the reception
conditions or connected USB device.
If noise is heard, it will also be recorded on the SD card.
Cause and remedy
 Make sure the clock is set correctly.
 When using the unit with the AC power cord connected, a power outrage
occurred.
 Check that "
" is displayed.
 An unplayable file was specified as the sound source.
 The clock was not set.
 If the unit is not turned on at the scheduled time, nothing will be displayed on
the screen, but the program will be recorded.
