132 Chapter 7 Getting Familiar with Autodesk MapGuide Author
You can customize Autodesk MapGuide Author by specifying preferences for
toolbar button size, map units, status bar display, and more. When you
change the preferences, the new settings apply to all currently open maps, as
well as to all maps you open after setting the preferences. You open the Pref-
erences dialog box by choosing File
For step-by-step instructions, choose Help
and look up "preferences."
Autodesk MapGuide Author can open maps saved as Map Window Files
(MWF) and Map Window XML Files (MWX) in the following ways:
Open a map located on a local or network drive using the File

Download and open a map from a Web server using the File
