General restrictions:
Printer functions
• When several users perform an installation of the printer driver by Point and Print at the same time, an error may
occur during downloading the printer driver, or a message that prompts to insert the CD-ROM may be displayed.
In that case, wait until other users finish the installation and then perform the installation again.
• Printing in Windows 2000 using the standard TCP/IP Port may require a large amount of time. In that case,
download Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4 to apply the correction patch released by Microsoft. This
Update Rollup 1 is also provided by Microsoft Windows Update (Article ID number 891861).
• When using TCP/IP LPR to print a document with the front cover from Mac OS 8.6/9.X, you may not be able to
obtain the desired print data. In that case, perform printing with AppleTalk.
• When printing is performed in duplex mode, auto color mode, and under the following conditions, even a user
whom a roll in role-based access control to prohibit printing in color mode is assigned can print in color mode.
- When printing a page color original in Word 2007
- When printing even numbered pages in monochrome mode or on blank paper
(Printouts, which resulted as above when some option such as "Insert Pages" is specified, are included.)
• When the user authentication is enabled, the Cover Page option cannot be used in MacOS X 10.3 or later.
Document monitor functions
• When the equipment cannot be discovered by Document monitor Local Discovery or Document monitor Network
Discovery, click [Manual Selection] and enter the IP address and name manually to find the equipment.
• You can set events on the Notification tab in the Document monitor Configuration menu. Even if you configure
events, the set value will not be affected. When you reboot Document monitor, the set value will be affected.
e-Filing functions
• When the number of documents stored in e-Filing increases, "Wait" appears after the power is turned on. In that
case, you may need to wait awhile until e-Filing becomes available.
• To cancel printing of the e-Filing document, press the [JOB STATUS] button and press the "PRINT" menu or
"SCAN" menu to find the job. The print job of the e-Filing document must be displayed either PRINT JOB screen
or SCAN JOB screen. If you find the job in the screen, select the job and press the [DELETE] button to cancel it.
• The control panel cannot be operated when backup/restoring is performed. Also, transition into or restoring from
the energy saving mode is not performed during backup/restoring. Only facsimile reception is enabled during
backup/restoring. Therefore, do not perform printer-printing, facsimile reception or transfer, etc., at that time.
