Setting the connection mode

Connections between the user and target devices can be preemptive or cooperative with the
other user.
A preemptive connection between the user and a target device is disconnected, without warning, if
the other user selects the same target device.
A cooperative connection enables the user to maintain the connection to a target device if another
user selects the same target device. In this mode, two users can be simultaneously connected to the
target device if Share Enable is selected. When the second user connects to the target device, the
first user still has keyboard and mouse control over the target device. When the first user ceases
providing keyboard and mouse input to the target device, the appliance will wait the number of
seconds specified in the Timeout Seconds field before transferring keyboard and mouse control to
the second user.
To select the connection mode, complete the following steps:
1.
Press Print Screen. The Main window opens.
2.
Click Setup > Switch.
3.
Select Preemptive or Cooperative. If you selected Cooperative, you can select Share
Enable to enable both users to control the same target device. In the Timeout Seconds field,
type the number of seconds that the appliance will wait for input from the first connected user
before allowing input from the second user.
4.
Click OK to save the settings.
