The Need for Resynchronization

Entries are synchronized provided they are in the subtree configured with the
sync agreement and able to be synchronized. There are some cases where an entry
can be initially not subject to the agreement (for example, if it lacks the
object class) but subsequently becomes subject to the agreement (if the
object class is later added).
In cases like these, the Directory Server is not able to identify the entry's change in
status with normal update processing, and it fails to create the corresponding
entry in the Windows server (in the case that that entry does not already exist).
A resynchronization process recognizes and synchronizes such entries.
Resynchronization need only be performed once to identify all
previously-unsynched entries.
