CHOICE - RSTAT2 - Electronic Room Thermostat
Placement of Thermostat
Your electronic room thermostat should be placed somewhere convenient, so it is easy to access. Mount the thermostat
approximately 1.5M (5 ft) off the floor. If at all possible, the thermostat should be situated on an inside wall as an outside wall can
affect their readings, as can other sources of heat such as radiators, fire places or other heat sources. Care should be taken not to
site the thermostat in direct sunlight. Thermostats need good air circulation in order to properly sense the room temperature, so avoid
situating the thermostat next to curtains or furnishings and away from any draughts.
Fixing
1. Slacken the securing screws and remove the wallplate.
2. Fix the wall-plate, terminals at the top, either direct onto a flat wall using wall plugs and screws or on a flush mounting single
conduit box using the screws supplied. Route the wires through the back of the wall-plate and fit the wires to the wallplate in
accordance with the wiring diagram shown. This unit must be installed by a suitable competent person in accordance with the
latest IEE regulations.
3. Refit the thermostat onto the wall-plate and tighten the fixing screws.
4. Before reconnecting the mains ensure that an appropriate fuse is fitted to the circuit.
The Sangamo Rstat2 is fitted with an electronic relay. Unless 230v mains electrical supply is connected, the relay will not operate, no
'click' will be heard and the call for heat will remain open. It is essential to make a connection to the neutral terminal N.
Setting
Set the desired room temperature on the control knob against the setting mark.
