Attaching the Grounding Cable

The following procedure describes how to attach:
Warning
When you install the unit, you must always connect the ground connection first and then be sure to
disconnect the ground connection last. Statement 202

Tools and Supplies
Description
Number 2 Phillips screwdriver
Wire stripping tool
Crimping tool
2-hole grounding lugs
Must fit no. 6 stranded, no. 6 weld, or
37/24 flex cables. Each lug has two holes,
centered 0.625 in. (1.587 cm) apart and
accepts M5 screws.
Grounding wire
M5 PEM screws with captive, locking
washers
Screws to attach ground wire to grounding
point at site
The grounding lug to the grounding cable.
The grounding cable to the chassis.
The grounding cable to the earth grounding point.

Comments
Must fit diameter of grounding lugs.
Recommended types:
Panduit no. LCD6-10-AL
Thomas & Betts no. 256-30695-1183
Burndy no. YA6CL2TC10
6 AWG, 0.1620 in. (4.1148 mm)
recommended.
Included in accessory kit shipped with the
Cisco 10008 router.
Part requirements depend on location.
