Quick Power On Self Test
Select Enabled to reduce the amount of time required to run the Power
On Self Test (POST). It should be noted that the quick test skips
certain steps that are covered in the normal POST.
Boot Sequence
This category determines which drive the computer searches first for
the disk operating system (DOS).
A, C
System will first search for floppy disk drive, then hard disk drive.
C, A
System will first search for hard disk drive, then floppy disk drive.
Swap Floppy Drive
If you have two floppy drives, you can choose to designate the physi-
cal A drive as the logical B drive, and vice-versa. If this function is
Enabled, the two will be swapped. If Disabled, the two will be defined
normally (i.e. physical and logical designation will be the same).
Boot Up Floppy Seek
During POST, the BIOS will determine if the floppy disk drive in-
stalled is 40 or 80 tracks. The 360KB type is 40 tracks while the
720KB, 1.2MB, and 1.44MB are all 80 tracks.
Enabled BIOS searches for floppy disk drive to determine if it is 40 or 80
tracks. Note that the BIOS cannot distinguish between 720KB,
1.2MB, and 1.44MB drive types, as they are all 80 tracks.
Disabled BIOS will not search for the type of floppy disk drive by track
number. Note that there will not be any warning messages if the
drive installed is 360KB.
Boot Up NumLock Status
Determines whether or not NumLock is active when the system boots.
If On, the number keys are active on the keypad; if Off, the arrow keys
are active.
