Replacing bulbs
General
All bulb specifications are found on page 176.
The following list contains bulbs and point-
source lamps that are specialised or unsuitable
for changing except by a workshop:
· General interior lighting in the ceiling
· Ceiling lighting
· Reading lamps
· Glovebox lighting
· Direction indicators in the door mirrors
· Approach lighting in the door mirrors
· High-level brake light
· Lamps in the Bi-Xenon headlamp
Important!
Never touch the bulb glass with your fingers.
Grease and oils from your fingers are
vaporised by the heat, coating and damaging
the reflector.

Replacing front bulbs

All front bulbs (except fog lamps) are replaced
via the engine compartment.
WARNING!
On cars with Bi-Xenon headlamps, all work
on the lamps should be carried out by an
authorised Volvo workshop.
Bi-Xenon headlights must be handled with
extreme care due to the high-voltage unit.
Replacing bulbs
Position of lamps in headlamp
1. Side marker lamp
2. Direction indicator
3. Dipped beam, parking lamp
4. Main beam
On certain variants, a white plastic sleeve may
impede bulb replacement. This can be broken
off and discarded.
