WARNING!
Airbag (SRS) - passenger side
Never place a child in a child seat or on a
booster cushion in the front seat if the air-
bag (SRS) is activated*.
Never allow a child to stand or sit in front
of the front passenger seat.
No one shorter than 140 cm should sit in
the front seat if the airbag (SRS) is acti-
vated*.
Failure to follow the advice given above
can endanger the life of the child.
WARNING!
Airbag (SRS) - passenger side
Passengers should sit as upright as pos-
sible with their feet on the floor and backs
against the backrests. Seat belts should be
secured.
No objects or accessories may be positio-
ned or stuck on or near the SRS panel
(above the glovebox) or in the area affec-
ted by the airbag.
Do not place loose objects on the floor,
seat, or on the dashboard.
Never modify the airbag system. Only an
authorised Volvo workshop may carry out
repairs.
Warning lamp in the

combined instrument panel

The airbag system is continually monitored by
its sensor/control module and its warning lamp
is located in the combined instrument panel.
This lamp illuminates when the ignition key is
turned to position I, II or III and goes out once
the sensor/control module has checked that the
airbag system is fault-free. This usually takes
approx. 7 seconds.

WARNING!
If the airbag warning lamp remains lit or
lights while driving, the airbag system is not
fully functional. The symbol can indicate a
fault in the seat belt, SRS, SIPS or IC sys-
tem. Contact an authorised Volvo workshop
as soon as possible.
