Edit FMR files

You can edit the FMR SWF files inserted in Adobe Captivate slides to:
Trim a portion of the file
Merge multiple FMR files
Split the file
Note: Editing FMR SWFs created using other applications or other versions of Adobe Captivate can lead to
unpredicable results.
Trim FMR SWF files
Select the slide that contains the FMR SWF file.

In the FMR Edit Options area of the Property Inspector, select Trim in the Options list.

Specify the start and end markers by typing the required values for Trim From and To options.

Click Trim.

The portion of the SWF file between the specified start and end markers is removed from the file.
Insert SWF files in an FMR file

Select the slide that contains the FMR SWF file.

In the FMR Edit Options area of the Property Inspector, select Insert in the Options list.

Specify the insertion point by typing the time at which you want to insert another FMR SWF file. Click Snap To
Playhead to snap the insertion point to the beginning of the file.
Click Insert.

Select a SWF file from the library (the Media folder) or click Browse to choose a file that is not stored in the library.

The selected file is inserted at the specified insertion point. This process can take some time depending on the size of
the inserted file.
Split FMR SWF into two parts
Select the slide that contains the FMR SWF file.

In the FMR Edit Options area of the Property Inspector, select Split in the Options list.

Specify the point (in time duration) at which the file is to be split.

Click Split.

Note: When an FMR SWF file is split, objects are not retained in the resultant split file. You have to insert the objects
again into the resultant file.
Merge FMR slides
In the Filmstrip, select the FMR slides that you want to merge. To select multiple slides, hold down the Shift key

and then click the slides.
In the FMR Edit Options area of the Property Inspector, click Merge FMR Slides.
