6DIHW\ Be very careful when the PTO shaft is fitted. A too short or too long PTO shaft can cause great damage to the machine and tractor. Over- run clutch must be mounted on the axle journal of the machine. If the PTO shafts of the machine DUH QRLV\ RU YLEUDWH, the fitting in- structions must be gone through again.

3UHSDUDWLRQ Preparation 3UHSDUDWLRQ RI WKH For the transport to the user, the machine has been taken down into main components. The machine must be assembled according to the PDFKLQH special assembly instructions delivered with the machine. The instructions given in the following paragraph must be followed when assembling the machine for the first time (shortening of PTO shaft etc.).

0RXQWLQJ DWWDFKPHQW Mounting - attachment 0RXQWLQJ RI VXV The attachment of the machine to the tractor must be carried out ac- cording to the rules given. The three hitch pins of the suspension must SHQVLRQ be properly locked by means of heavy duty pins. If the machine is pulled away from the tractor, this could result in serious damage or even have fatal consequences.

0RXQWLQJ DWWDFKPHQW Attach the machine to the tractor and lift the suspension slightly so that the support leg is clear of the ground and then raise both support legs as shown. A top link mounting as shown here will cause a non-satisfactory oper- Correct adjustment ation of the machine .

0RXQWLQJ DWWDFKPHQW Lift the machine well clear of the ground as shown. Tighten the stabiliser chain of the tractor. Considering the weight distribution it is recommended to tighten the LH stabiliser chain of the tractor extraordinarily so that the machine is as close to the tractor as possible.

0RXQWLQJ DWWDFKPHQW Connect the hydraulic hoses to the tractor. Open the safety valve on the hydraulic cylinder. Connect the electric cables of the machine to the 12 V electric supply on the tractor. When the machine has been connected to the 12 V electric supply, the diode in the box will light up.

2SHUDWLRQ Operation :RUNLQJ LQ WKH ILHOG When turning on headland the single-acting hydraulic oil outlet is used to raise/lower the cutterbar. If you want to change the stubble height, do as follows: > Lower the cutterbar to the ground. > Shorten/extend the top link until the required stubble height has been achieved.

2SHUDWLRQ $GMXVWPHQW RI JURXQG If you want to change the ground pressure, proceed as follows: SUHVVXUH /RZHU JURXQG SUHVVXUH Loosen the two bolts shown. Move the bracket down as shown. The pressure on the ground by the cutterbar will then be reduced. Raise and lower the cutterbar by means of the single-acting hydraulic cylinder.

2SHUDWLRQ +LJKHU JURXQG SUHVVXUH Move the bracket up as shown and the ground pressure by the cutter- bar will be bigger. Then raise and lower the cutterbar by means of the single-acting hy- draulic cylinder. Then check the setting by lifting the cutting unit. The recommended weight must be approx.

3DUNLQJ Parking 8QFRXSOLQJ It is important to carry out the uncoupling correctly to ensure that the later attachment can easily be done. Do as follows when uncoupling the machine: Convert the machine into transport position. Lower both support legs and lock them by means of pins. Remove the chain, if necessary.

3DUNLQJ Close the safety valve on the hydraulic cylinder. Before switching off the hydraulic service, the hydraulic system of the machine must be discharged and unpressurized. Hold the single-acting hydraulic oil outlet open for approx. 10-20 se- conds. 7$.( &$5( Disconnect the hydraulic hoses and the electric supply.

6WRUDJH Storage :LQWHU VWRUDJH When the season is over, the machine should be prepared for winter storage immediately. Start by thoroughly cleaning the machine, - then grease the machine thoroughly so that any remaining water is pressed out of the bearings. Change the oil in the cutterbar and gearbox and let the machine rotate for a few minutes.

0DLQWHQDQFH $WWHQWLRQ Maintenance During all service operations with knives and cutting discs the tractor engine must be stopped and the hand brake applied. If the machine is in raised position, it must be securely supported. Re-tighten all knife bolts and bolts for the cutting discs on your new machine before it is started up and again after approx.

0DLQWHQDQFH Attention ! Check daily that knife bolts and bolts for cutting discs are tightened and that cones, cutting discs and knives are undamaged. If the rotat- ing parts are unbalanced, vibrations could occur causing damage to the cutterbar. Damage of this kind annuls the factory guarantee. 5HSODFHPHQW RI If the knives are worn on one side, they can be interchanged by using NQLYHV...

0DLQWHQDQFH 6DIHW\ JXDUGV Keep the safety guards of the P.T.O. shafts in good order and in place. This also applies for all other guards on the machine. Missing or da- maged guards for rotating parts might cause serious injury or even death.

Mount the spline in the gearwheel hub so that the flange axle is guided safely in place when it is pressed down.

0DLQWHQDQFH 0RXQWLQJ RI FROODU EHDU When repairing collar bearings, proceed as follows: LQJ ZLWK RQH GRXEOHURZ • Lock the threaded surfaces of the bolt with /RFWLWH . Torque EDOO EHDULQJ moment must be 50 Nm. • Lock the bolt by means of lock plates. Torque moment 90 ± 3 Nm. Check that the sealings in the loose threaded pins are undamaged.

WLRQDO HTXLSPHQW 6SUHDGLQJ HTXLS PHQW The machine can be equipped with spreading equipment of the “flip over” type. It is recommended to remove the LH deflector plate and to open up the RH deflector plate as shown so that the tractor does not drive on the crop when the following swath is cut.

2SWLRQDO HTXLSPHQW +LJK FXW VNLGV The machine can be equipped with 2 types of high cut skids. The skids are fixed and cannot be height adjusted. High cut skids are recommended for stony or bumby fields or for fields with molehills. The stubble height is increased by approx. 40 and 60 mm.
