Use only genuine Kverneland spare parts. Other products may ad- versely affect the correct operation of the plow and safety. The war- ranty will no longer be valid if parts not produced by Kverneland are used. Check the tire pressure Regularly check to ensure the tire pressure meets the requirements.
Page 11
Safety Driving on the road Be aware of the plow’s length The plow is long, and swings out when turning. In tight turns, avoid swinging the rear of the plow into obstacles. Stabilize the lower links During all non-plowing operations, e.g. transport, the tractor's lower links must be secured.
Page 12
Safety High pressures in the hydraulic system The hydraulic system is under high pressure. Regularly check all lines, hoses, and screwed connections for leaks and externally visible dam- age. Do not use hands to search for suspected leaks. Only use suita- ble equipment when looking for leaks.
Features Auto-reset beam The AB plow is equipped with Kverneland’s automatic stone release system. The single leaf spring system cushions the plow body when a hard object is impacted. Once the plow has passed the obstacle, the body automatically reverts to the correct plow depth.

Preparing for operation Preparing for operation This chapter will guide you through the preparations that must be made on the plow and tractor before you start operating the plow. Tractor Hydraulic connections The following chart shows the connections required on the tractor. Hydraulic functions Single-acting Double-acting...
Preparing for operation Front weights > Add sufficient front end weights to ensure safe driving. Remove paint > Remove paint from all surfaces in contact with the ground. Use a scraper and paint remover. Tower The tower (A, fig.1) must always be fitted vertically, as viewed from the front.
Page 25
Preparing for operation Automatic beam with stone release system The illustration shows the composition of the HD spring. In heavy soil, two of spring leaf no. 5 can be added. Our standard spring does not contain spring leaf no. 5 In light soil, it is recommended to remove one spring leaf no.
Coupling This chapter explains how to couple the plow to the tractor. Coupling Safety DANGER Increased risk of injury when coupling There is an increased risk of injury when the plow is coupled to the tractor. Therefore: • Shut off engine, set the parking brake, remove the ignition key. •...
Coupling Connection geom- For a stable first furrow width, the imaginary intersection of the lower links arms should be 1/3 of the axle distance behind the front axle. If etry this is not the case, replace the cross shaft with another length. →...
Transport This chapter explains how to drive safely on roads. Transport Safety WARNING Stabilize the lower links During transport, stabilize the tractor's lower links. This will pre- vent the plow from accidentally moving sideways. Adapt your speed: max 25 km/h (15 mph) Your driving speed must be adapted to the road and field conditions under all circumstances, but must never exceed 25 km/h (15 mph).
Transport Prior to transport Prior to transport Remove soil and dirt from the plow Stabilize the lower links Adjust the plow to its narrowest working width (see photo) Parking stand This illustration shows the spring-loaded parking stand when the plow is parked This illustration shows the parking stand's position during plowing and transport.
Disc coulter, skimmer and trash board Levelling of the tractor's lower links Working width First furrow width If one function is adjusted, this will affect the others. Therefore, this ad- justment must be carried out several times. Safety WARNING Use protective clothing Use protective clothing, e.g.
Adjusting the plow First furrow width Do not adjust in the raised position Do not adjust the first furrow width when the plow is raised above the ground. This may result in damage or injury. In general, the first furrow should be the same width as the other fur- rows.
Adjusting the plow • Working depth The plow frame should always be parallel to the ground. • The top linkage should be in the centre of the slot. • After changing the working depth, check the levelling of the lower links (see next paragraph) Incorrect adjustment Correct adjustment...
Adjusting the plow Set-up The figures above show a simplified set-up (simple crown) which requires minimal adjustment. With the plow set for normal plowing, the crown is driven without any setting other than the variation of the depth (hydraulic pack and depth wheel). First pass (A): Only the three plow bodies are plowing.
Adjusting the plow Finishing Time must be taken when plowing the final furrow to ensure that the strip of field which remains is of an equal width. Figure A and B show finishing with a 5-share plow. Finishing starts when the remaining furrow width is twice the number of shares mi- nus 1 (9 furrows for 5 shares - 11 furrows for 6 shares, etc.).
Adjusting the plow Disc coulter [+] Setting the disc coulter: • The disc coulter must cut almost 1/3 of the disc coulter's diameter. • The distance between the disc coulter and the body must be at > 5 cm least 5 cm (2 inches). In stony soils, increase this distance. 2 inches •...
Adjusting the plow Skimmer [+] The skimmers are correctly adjusted when • The skimmers have a working depth of approximately 3 to 5 cm (1 to 2 inches). • All skimmers are adjusted equally. To adjust the depth Loosen the nuts on bolt A Loosen bolt A.
Adjusting the plow Trash board [+] The trash board should be placed with the front edge close to the mouldboard, the rear edge should be adjusted according to the plow- ing depth. There are two adjusting holes in the bracket for the trash board, one for deep plowing and one for shallower plowing (A).
Page 38
Adjusting the plow To make a further adjustment when out in the field, on level ground, drive the tractor's left front and rear wheels onto a block corresponding to the depth you wish to plow and then lower the plow to the ground. Ensure that the plow and the tractor's lower links are the same distance from the rear wheels.
Page 39
(A) until this is achieved. AD model) If the tractor has resistance regulated hydraulics with the impulse generator in the top linkage fitting, the hole in the tower must be used for the plow to have automatic depth control.
Plowing Plowing Prior to plowing Before you start plowing Remove oil and grease from parts which come in contact with the ground. Checks during During plowing, regularly check the following. plowing Soil penetration In hard and dry soil, the plow may not penetrate the soil well. To im- prove the penetration Replace worn parts.
