File-naming conventions
Macintosh: The maximum length for Macintosh file names is
thirty-one characters. Colons (":") are not allowed.
Windows: In environments that do not support long file names, the
maximum length is eight characters; file names may not contain
spaces, quotes, or any of the following characters: "\\" "/" ":" ","
";" "*" "<" ">" and "|".
Where long file names are supported, the maximum length is 255
characters. File names may not contain quotes or any of the
following characters: "\\" "/" ":" "," ";" "*" "<" ">" and "|".

Description
