Web browsers (HTTP on TCP/IP Network)
1. Start the Web browser (for example, Netscape
Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer).
2. Enter the Internet (IP) address or host name of the
CD-ROM server as the URL (for example,
http://192.124.138.80
3. When the CD-ROM server home page is displayed, you
are communicating with the CD-ROM server. (If
desired, save the URL using the browser's Bookmarks
or Favorites utilities.)
4. Under 'Accessible CDs', you can click a CD to see the
contents.
Accessing a new CD-ROM disc
If a valid disc is inserted into any connected drive,
the green 'CD' light on the HP CD-ROM Server
should turn on. If it does not, power off your
CD-ROM server and drives, check your SCSI cable
connections. Restore power first to the drives, then
the CD-ROM server.
When you insert a disc into any connected drive, a
directory is created on the server. The directory name
will be the disc's volume name (if a volume name in upper
case had been assigned on the disc during manufacture).
If a volume name can't be identified, the name

directory.
Note: Some CD-ROM software may require that the disc
be assigned an individual drive letter in Windows. See
chapter 4 in the User's Guide for details.
