The Jupio JBG-C013 is a battery grip that can hold two Battery Pack LP-E17. It is also equipped with a
vertical-grip shutter button, Main Dial, etc. to enable shooting in the same way as with horizontal grip.
■ Attaching the JUPIO JBG-C013 to the Camera
1. Remove the battery from the camera (Fig. 1).
2, Pull out the camera's battery compartment cover at a slanted angle to detach (Fig. 2).
3. Detach the protective cover (Components ① ).
4. Attach the removed battery compartment cover to the cover holder.
● Slide the battery compartment cover into the battery compartment cover holder (Fig. 3-1), and
press the cover all the way in to secure it in place (Fig. 3-2).
● To detach the battery compartment cover, pull the battery compartment cover forward (Fig.3-3) and
then upward.
5. Insert the electrical contacts into the battery compartment (Fig. 4-1).
6. Align the attachment screw with the camera's tripod socket, and the turn the attach/detach dial to
tighten securely to the camera (Fig. 4-2).
● Do not further push open the battery compartment cover when it is already open. Doing so may
damage its hinge.
● Be sure to attach the battery grip to the camera before inserting the batteries. The results of the
battery check may not be displayed properly if you attach the battery grip to the camera with the
batteries already inside.
● Before attaching to or detaching from the camera, be sure to turn the camera's power switch to <OFF>,
and take out the batteries.
● Do not touch the electrical contacts (Components ②). Also, when the battery grip is not in use,
attach the protective cover (Components ① ) to the electrical contacts before storing.
● If the battery grip is attached to the camera or the battery compartment cover of the battery grip is
opened while pressing the <Av > button (Components ⑩), a battery communication error may
occur. When a message appears, perform the operations directed by the message.
■ Installing the Battery Packs
1. Slide the lever and open the cover as shown by the arrows (Fig.5).
2. Insert the battery packs in accordance with the directions on the battery compartment cover (Fig. 6)

3. Insert the battery packs all the way in until they are locked in place with the battery lock levers.
4. Close the battery compartment cover.
5. Press the cover until it snaps shut.
● If only one battery pack is used, it may be inserted in either the right or left side.
20. Infrared remote control
● If two battery packs are inserted, power is supplied simultaneously by both of them. Two
battery packs with different charging levels can be inserted and used without any problems.
● Remove the battery packs from the battery grip when the camera will not be used for an
extended period.
● When inserted into camera, please turn off the grips IR function to save power if you don't use it.
■ Removing the Battery Packs
1. Slide the lever and open the cover as shown by the arrows (Fig. 5).
2. While pushing in the battery pack with your finger, slide the battery lock lever (Fig.7).
● Release your finger slowly. Remove the battery pack when it pops out.
■ Using the Battery Grip
● Turning the vertical-grip operation switch to <ON> (Fig. 8) makes the battery grip buttons and dial
function in the same way as those on the camera.
● When shooting in the horizontal-grip position, turn the vertical-grip operation switch to <OFF> so that
you do not accidentally use the buttons or dial on the battery grip.
●To perform the following operations, rotate < Dial > (Components 16) while pressing the < Av > button
(Components ⑩).
- Exposure compensation setting
- AF point vertical direction selection
- Aperture setting when the shooting mode is <M>
● The battery level can be checked on the camera.
● Attaching a Hand Strap (sold separately) enables a more secure grip.
