Only use genuine Lemken spare-parts. Spurious parts negatively influence the function of the implement, show a shorter lifetime and increase in nearly all cases additional maintenance. We trust that you will understand that LEMKEN unable to guarantee poor operation and damage caused by using spurious parts!
Under „defined use“ the manufacturer’s prescribed operation-, maintenance- and repair conditions are to be adhered to! • The LEMKEN Kompaktor may only be operated, maintained and repaired by such persons who have been made acquainted with it and who have been advised about the dangers! •...

• Regularly check the hydraulic pipes and replace them in the event of damage or signs of ageing. The replacement pipes must comply with the technical specification as laid down by Lemken! • Hydraulic oil escaping at high pressure can penetrate the skin and cause serious injury! When injured see a doctor immediately! Danger of infection! •...
2 WARNING STICKERS General Instructions The LEMKEN Kompaktor is equipped with all features to ensure safe operation. Where potential danger areas of the implement can not be fully safeguarded, warning stickers are fitted which draw attention to these. Meaning of the stickers Familiarise with the meaning of the stickers.

WARNING! Pinch point. WARNING! Keep distance to the folding area of the implement.
3 PREPARATION OF TRACTOR Tyres Ensure that all tyres- especially the rear ones - are at identical pressures. See also tractor manufacturer’s instructions. Lift rods Adjust lift rods to equal length. Check chains or sway blocks 3.3.1 Mounted seed bed combination It is essential that the check chains or sway blocks are adjusted so that the lower links are free to move sideways when in working position.
Socket For the electrical uses the following sockets must be available at the tractor: Volt Socket Lighting equipment according to DIN-ISO 1724 Kompaktor S 400 and Kompaktor S 400 A These seedbed combinations are wider than 3 m and therefore it is not allowed to transport them on public roads attached to a tractor.
Calculation of the minimum front ballast G min: Calculation of the increasing of the rear axle load: Minimum axle load increasing The calculation of the required minimum front ballast and the increasing of the rear axle load requires that all above mentioned measurements and weights are known.
4 ATTACHING AND DETACHING THE IMPLEMENT Attaching to the tractor Set tractor hydraulics to "Position − control". Attach tractor lower links (3) to the − drawbar (2) and secure. Fit top link (1) so that it will rise slightly − towards the implement when in working position.
• The mounted folding seedbed combinations must be parked with wing sections folded out, only. • The KOMPAKTOR S 300 A and KOMPAKTOR S 400 A may only be parked with fully lowered frame (GR). • The KOMPAKTOR K 450 A must be parked with wing sections folded out, only.
5 FOLDING OF THE WING SECTIONS General Instructions For transport the folding KOMPAKTOR K seedbed combinations must be − folded-in hydraulically. For the folding-in device a double acting spool valve with the tractor is needed. By moving the spool valve into the first pressure position, the wing sections will −...
KOMPAKTOR K 450 (A), K 500 (A) and K 600 (A) In order to avoid a hitting of the wing sections (8) against the middle sections during folding operation, guiding springs (13) are fitted at the front of the wing sections - see drawing! The springs must be connected to the chain (14) so that they are tensioned a little in folding-out position.
6 BASIC ADJUSTMENT – SHORT INFORMATION Attaching to the tractor The KOMPAKTOR will be fitted to the three point linkage of the tractor by the headstock. The adjustment of the KOMPAKTOR takes place on level and firm ground. Fit top link so that it lies approx. parallel to the lower links and slightly rises towards the implement.
Pressure Load on the rear crumbling rollers and crosskillrollers By means of the pin adjustment the pressure load of the crosskill roller (18) and the rear crumbling roller (19) will be adjusted. When positioning the upper pin (20) in the 3 bore (seen from the top) the adjustment is suitable for medium soil conditions.
7 BASIC ADJUSTMENT General Instructions Before basic adjustment the track scrapers should be adjusted so high, that they do not touch the ground when parking the KOMPAKTOR. Otherwise an exact basic adjustment is not possible. The track scrapers will be adjusted at last. The basic adjustment of the KOMPAKTOR will be done on level and firm ground.
7.2.2 Semi-mounted thilthmaker The lower links of the tractor must be nearly parallel to the ground during work and the tractor hydraulic must be set to position control. With tractors having no position control it must be ensured that the lower links are secured against lowering.
7.3.2 Hydraulic cutting bar adjustment Additionally to the adjustment by spindle the cutting bar can also be ‘opened’ hydraulically. This is required for example when in changing soil conditions too much soil is damming up. The basic adjustment is done by the adjuster screws (16). By means of the pin adjustment (29) the amount of the adjustment can be limited.
Displacement of the harrow frames The harrow frames have two alternative fitting positions to the main frame. As standard the frames are fitted in front. Only if tines are clogging due to trashy conditions the frames should be fitted in the rear position. Therefore additional holes (ZB) are available in the frame.
7.10 Track scraper The track scrapers (SL) should be set approx. 2 - 5 cm deeper than the track bottom. A too deep setting results in bringing too much wet soil to the surface. Set track scrapers to required depth by means of the adjuster pin (ST).
8 ADJUSTMENT CORRECTIONS Too much pressure on the front - Lengthen top link slightly crumbling roller Too little pressure on the front - Shorten top link slightly crumbling roller Rear or front cutting bar is banking too - Turn adjuster screw of the cutting bar little soil, levelling is insufficient clockwise each time by ½...
• Worn shares, levelling bars and tines must be replaced in time, so that the carrying parts will not be damaged or worn. Use genuine-Lemken-spare parts, only. • Bearings of the crumbling- and crosskill rollers are free of maintenance; there is no need to grease them.
10 DRIVING ON PUBLIC ROADS If it is required to drive on public roads with the seed bed combination, fit warning boards with lighting equipment. As option warning boards with lighting equipment are available. Before work, the warning boards with lighting equipment must be detached before work, so that they cannot be damaged (with the exception of the semi-mounted versions).
