2.5 Waste disposal The packaging of your appliance consists exclusively of recyclable materials. Please sort them accordingly and return them to the "Dual System". This product is labelled in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and must not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of its service life, but must be handed in at a collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.

4 Connecting and operating the device 4.1 Scope of delivery The scope of delivery includes 1x DIGITRADIO 143, 1x operating instructions, 1x remote control + remote control, antenna for DAB+/UKW, WLAN antenna 4.2 Insert baUeries > Slide open the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control. Insert two "AAA" (Micro) size 1.5 V batteries into the battery compartment, observing the specified polarity.
Then plug the mains cable into a 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz mains socket. 4.4 Switch on / Switch off To switch on the DIGITRADIO 143, press the volume/ > rotary control on the device (14) or on the remote control (14).
4.7 Operation menu The menu is divided into the main menu, the submenu of the currently selected source and the system settings, which apply to all sources. The menu is operated using the TUNING/OK rotary control (13) on the device or using the up/down arrow buttons (22, 24) and the OK button (9) on the remote control.
4.8 Mute Switch on You can mute the volume using the Mute button (13). 6 Internet radio and podcasts The DIGITRADIO 143 is equipped with an Internet radio receiver. To be able to receive Internet radio stations/transmitters or podcasts, you need an Internet connection to a wireless network. You can read how to set up an Internet connection in chapter 14.2.
6.3 Saving Internet radio stations The favourites memory can store up to 30 stations. The stored transmitters are retained even in the event of a power failure. > Set the desired channel. 9 VHF operation 9.1 FM radio operation Switch on Press the MODE button until [FM radio] appears in the display. When switching on for the first time, the frequency is set to 87.5 MHz.
9.4 Automatic channel selection Press the SCAN button to start the automatic station search. If an FM station with a sufficiently strong signal is found, the search stops and the station is played.

12 USB music playback Supported music files (MP3) on a USB mass storage device can be played on the DIGITRADIO 143. To do this, plug the USB mass storage device, e.g. a USB stick, into the USB socket (3) on the front of the DIGITRADIO 143.

13 Advanced functions 13.1 Sleep timer The sleep timer allows you to switch the DIGITRADIO 143 to standby automatically after a preset time. Press the MENU button and then select > Sleep in the main menu. > If you are in a submenu, select the main menu as described in section 4.7.
13.2.1 W Set corner time You can only use the alarm function once the correct time has been set. Depending on the configuration, this is done automatically or must be set manually. The time can either be set manually or updated automatically via DAB FM or the Internet.
