Transmitters (optional) AMX offers several models of transmitters that are compatible with the KCR and KC/2R. Transmitters are available in configurations with up to 255 buttons. Most include custom engraving, with text as desired by the customer. The most popular transmitters are the TXC4+ and TXC4L+.
Keyboard Cable (male) RS-232 Serial Port The RS-232 serial port is used to connect the KCR or KC/2R to an RS-232 port of an AMX system. When connected to a PC, the KCR or KC/2R can retrieve saved program files directly from disk.
• The KC/2R includes mini-DIN cables with six pins, and is designed with IBM PS/2-type computers. Bottom Panel Figure 3 shows the eight-pin DIP switch on the bottom panel of the KCR and KC/2R. Set the DIP switch assignments to specify programming parameters, and radio or RS-232 control.
To highlight the new information, features, and operations added since the previous release of this manual, there are vertical margin bars adjacent to the new information. Technical Support Overview Prior to calling AMX for assistance, check your AXlink, power, and cable connections, and the integrity of your software operating system. Reload the software to see if something in the program is causing the problem. If the problem is not resolved, reload the program from a new copy of your master disk.
