Utility

The DN-S3700 offers the utilities described below.

DB Create:

A database is created on the external USB memory device connected
to the DN-S3700. This makes it possible to search for MP3/WAV files
on the DN-S3700.
Preset Data:
Saves the presetting along with data on a device and reads out the
presetting. Selects the Power On Play playlist.
Memo Data:
This function allows you to store CD memo data onto and import the
data from a device.
It can also be used to delete the internal CD memo data.
Memo Data:
This utility can be used to format the external USB memory device
connected to the DN-S3700. It can also be used to restore the
presetting and memo data to the factory defaults.

Utilitymode

When in the standby or pause mode or when no file is
-UTILITY
selected, press and hold in the
least 1 second to enter the Utility mode.
PARAMETERS

knob to select the utility item.

button to turn the Utility mode off.
DB Create
A database is created on the external USB memory device
connected to the DN-S3700. This makes it possible to
search for MP3/WAV files on the DN-S3700.
NOTE
When a database has already been created on the external USB
memory device, the database is reset. Playlists that have been created
are also deleted.

Setting the Database Edit Mode

At the top menu in the Utility mode, turn the
PARAMETERS
knob and select "DB Create".

Creating Databases

Creating Temporary Databases

Use this procedure to create a database searchable by file
name only.
This database can be created faster than a full database.
b Searching using ID3 Tag data is not possible.

knob select "Temporary".
Confirm whether or not you want to create the
database.
When "OK" is selected:
The temporary database is created on the external USB memory
device. The progress is displayed.
When "Cancel" is selected:
The temporary database is not created on the external USB
memory device. The screen returns to as it was in step .
NOTE
File name searching is not possible with iPods, so the temporary
database cannot be used.
