System System specifics The labeling system consists of a standard HERMES Q-series label printer, a modified stroke applicator 4114 pressure-reduced and an assembly platform. Attention! First fully assemble the system consisting of label printer, applicator and assembly platform and establish all compressed air connections within the system. Only then should the compressed air supply be estab- lished and switched on.

Mounting Adjusting the Pad For the perfect application of labels it is necessary that the pad is placed precisely above the dispensed label. Aligning the pad parallel to the dispensing plate The edge of the pad should be positioned parallel to the dispensing plate of the printer in order to position the label exactly on the pad.

Operation Standard Operation X Check all external connections. X Load the material. Ensure that the locking system is locked "Operator's Manual" of the printer. X Open the shutoff valve. Attention! X Ensure that the pad is not covered by a label when switching on the printer-applicator system. Otherwise the vacuum sensor may be calibrated incorrectly.
Configuration Note! The settings in the printer configuration are basic settings for the specific printer-applicator combination. If the applicator or printer is changed, a new setting is required. Adaptation to the respective print job must be carried out primarily via the software. Additional offset values are available here.

Installation Connecting the Device 9.3.1 Connecting to the Power Supply The printer is equipped with a wide area power unit. The device can be operated with a supply voltage of 230 V~/50 Hz or 115 V~/60 Hz without adjustment. 1. Check that the device is switched off. 2.

The print of a label must be started by the external START or REPRINT signal ( Configuration Manual). When operating the printer without cab applicator the removal of the label must be confirmed by the LBLREM signal ( Configuration Manual).
Cleaning 13.1 Cleaning Information Danger! Risk of death via electric shock! X Disconnect the printer from the power supply before performing any maintenance work. The label printer requires very little maintenance. It is important to clean the thermal printhead regularly. This guarantees a consistently good printed image and plays a major part in preventing premature wear of the printhead.
