- Page 8 Compact and lightweight, the DMX FX512 measures 5.28” x 19” x 2.71” and weighs only 4.7lbs. It has rubber feet and can be used freely on a front of house design desk without being rack mounted.
- Page 9 C O N T R O L S A N D O P E R AT I O N G U I D E NUMBER BUTTONS: In CHASE mode, press a number button to activate or deactivate the chase. In SCENE mode, press a number button to activate or deactivate the scene.
- Page 10 For example, if you are patching a moving head, you must assign the pan/tilt channels of the moving head to the PAN/TILT wheels on the DMX FX512 if you want to change its default setting. If you are patching an LED fixture, you must assign the Red, Green, Blue, White, and Dimmer channels to the corresponding faders.
- Page 11 C O N T R O L S A N D O P E R AT I O N G U I D E MENU OPERATIONS: Enter/Exit Menu To enter or exit the Menu mode, hold the MENUS button for 2 seconds. The available menu options are as follows: 1.
- Page 12 3. Rotate the PAN wheel to select YES or NO. Press ENTER to confirm. 4. Press a number button to load the backup file. DMX FX512 can store up to 16 backup files, each assigned to a number button (1-16). If the LED indicator of a number button is on, it indicates a backup file is present in that position.

- Page 14 4. Power off the DMX FX512. 5. Press and hold REC, BLACK OUT, and RUN MODE simultaneously. 6. Power on the DMX FX512 and wait for about 3 seconds until the LCD display shows ‘PRESS ANY BUTTON TO UPDATE.’ 7. Release REC, BLACK OUT, and RUN MODE.
- Page 15 (DATA + and DATA -). Insert this unit into the female XLR connector of the last unit in your daisy chain to terminate the line. Using a cable terminator (ADJ part number Z-DMX/T) will decrease the possibilities of erratic behavior.
