SimpleSwitch Connectivity
The SimpleSwitch Connectivity feature provides a convenient way to perform initial set up of the
connection mode on your scanner by following the steps below. Once configured, the scanner will remain
in that mode unless reconfigured using the instructions on the back of this sheet.
ETHERNET MODE

Ethernet Cable
(ETHERNET)
Plug in power supply and a
live Ethernet cable.
RNDIS MODE (Ethernet-over-USB)

Power on scanner with NO
Ethernet or USB cables connected.

Power on the scanner.

Wait for the indicator light on
the Smart Button to turn red.
Plug in the USB cable.
TRADITIONAL USB MODE

Plug in power supply and
the USB cable.

Press and hold the Smart Button for
about :10 seconds until you hear two
audible "chirps". After the second
"chirp", release the button.

Power on the scanner.

Start with your scanner powered ON with USB and Ethernet cables unplugged from scanner.
