    About this manual • This manual uses diagrams of actual screens to describe operations. However, the screens on some units may not match those shown in this manual depending on the model used. In this manual, the SPH-EVO107DAB screens when [Europe] is selected in [Location setting] are used as examples in these instructions.

    Protecting the LCD panel and screen • Do not expose the LCD screen to direct sunlight when this product is not used. This may result in LCD screen malfunction due to the resulting high temperatures. • If you use your mobile phone close to the LCD screen and the image gets distorted in the form of spots, coloured stripes, etc., move your mobile phone away from the screen.

    Parts and controls Main unit SPH-EVO107DAB: SPH-EVO98DAB/SPH-DA97DAB: • Touch when the main unit and the iPhone/smartphone are not connected via Bluetooth to display the Bluetooth connection screen. • When the main unit and the iPhone/smartphone are connected via Bluetooth, the screen that is displayed varies depending on the configuration of [Companion App Key settings].

    Using the companion App for the AV main unit The companion app is an application that allows you to configure and transfer various settings of this unit. You can also update this unit’s firmware wirelessly by using this app. NOTE If linking to the companion app is not complete, the settings icon and [Companion App Info] setting item will be displayed with a red badge.

    Starting procedure • When connecting the companion app for the first time on your Android device, disconnect Android Auto. Turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functions on your iPhone or smartphone. Touch Touch then Touch [Wi-Fi settings]. Touch [Access point] and turn it [On]. Touch Touch [Connection].

    Customising the home menu screen The [Settings] icon cannot be removed from the favourite source/application area. The [Apple CarPlay] icon and the [Android Auto] icon can be deleted from the favourite source/application area, but if Apple CarPlay or Android Auto is started, the respective icon is added automatically.

    Digital Radio tuner operations For improved Digital Radio reception, make sure a Digital Radio aerial with phantom power input (active type) is used. Pioneer recommends using AN-DAB1 (sold separately) or CA-AN-DAB.001 (sold separately). Current consumption of Digital Radio aerial should be 100 mA or less.

Keep holding the key for long seconds to perform non stop seek tuning. Storing the strongest broadcast frequencies (BSM) The BSM (best stations memory) function automatically stores the six strongest broadcast frequencies under the preset channel keys [1] to [6].

    Setting the driving position To achieve optimum usability of Apple CarPlay, set the driving position setting correctly according to the vehicle.
